Let's Talk in the Trees
Our National Lottery Community Funded sessions of Let's Talk in the Trees have started with a bang! Each session at Bowring Park Golf Course on Monday afternoons have been fully booked each week. The turn out has been incredible and the feedback wonderful from you all. We are truly blown away. Our sister session, over at Swanside Community Centre launched this week and this was just as popular. These sessions are in huge demand. We would therefore kindly remind you that if you cannot attend for whatever reason, please do try to get in touch and let us know as we may be able to offer your space to another family. Our children have loved the themes so far, based on communication top tips and exploring our vocabulary. We have used nature to inspire what we can see, hear and touch and used lots of descriptive vocabulary and introduced new words alongside this play. A real hit with the children is the bug hunting area - I think our next mission is to make these little bugs a proper bug hotel!
Father's Day Special
On Sunday 16th June we are hosting a Father's day forest school stay and play. This event is free of charge and proudly sponsored by Asda Foundation community fund. We want to celebrate all the 'Tree-men -dous' men in our lives through a fun filled, nature inspired event. Come and join us. Booking can be found below.
Partnership working and future projects
June has certainly been a busy month so far for JLS C.I.C. We are starting a brand new project in partnership with Growing Sudley C.I.C. This project is focusing on how we can use nature to support children's self-esteem, confidence and ultimately their emotional well-being. We will be working alongside FOUR schools this term. 2 schools will be attending the walled garden at Growing Sudley every Friday and the other 2 schools will receive support at their own school grounds. We are incredibly excited to see how this project supports children with their emotional development and mental health. Jenny our Forest school leader is looking forward to using her newly aquired knowledge from studying to become a certified outdoor mental health practitioner to support these groups of children further. Keep your eyes peeled for further updates on these projects.
